 The association was formed in 2007 to provide, promote and develop sport, physical and recreational activities in the area covered by Patchway Town Council and adjacent areas.

Current areas of work that the group is involved in include:

- Annual Patchway Grassroots Champions Evening

- Patchway Festival Sports Activities
- Raising the profile of sport – new website
- Improving school and club links

- Obtaining funding for clubs

Sports Equity

Sports equity is about fairness in sport, equality of access, recognising inequalities and taking steps to address them. It is about changing the culture and structure of sport to ensure it becomes equally accessible to everyone in society.

The association respects the rights, dignity and worth of every person and will treat everyone equally within the context of their sport, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexuality or social/economic status.

The association is committed to everyone having the right to enjoy their sport in an environment free from threat of intimidation, harassment and abuse.

All association members have a responsibility to oppose discriminatory behaviour and promote equality of opportunity. The association will deal with any incidence of discriminatory behaviour seriously.

Membership

Open to all community sports clubs/groups and organisations from Patchway and adjacent areas, and is supported by Patchway Town Council and South Gloucestershire Council Community Sport team.  

We currently have representatives from the following groups:

- Aretians Rugby FC
- Almondsbury Tennis Club
- Patchway Community College


There are general committee meetings which take place every three months, normally January, April, June and September. 
The association is comprised of officers; Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer. These officers are to be elected by the management committee at the AGM.
